About

A holistic way to improve your health

Feeling good about yourself, enjoying life, and looking forward to the future may for many be something that is taken for granted, but for others, this isn't always the case. Sometimes life can feel challenging and difficult to deal with or cope with.  You may experience depression or anxieties, having difficulty handling relationships, battling fears, and phobias that put limitations on your daily life. If this reflects your life right now, and you would like help changing it, then please let us help you.

At SOOL Psychology, we try to find the root of your problems, reactions, or concerns, to heal and mend them at their source. As your partner on this journey, health psychologist Jo Holmberg believes that there is not just one way of dealing with psychological problems. Each individual has his or her unique story, background, and genetic make-up and therefore an individual set of psychological tools needs to be offered to each person. By using this approach, Ms. Holmberg makes sure that you will get the most suitable help for your specific complaints.

How we at SOOL Psychology can Help You and/or Your Child or Teenager

Having a child or a teenager who is faced with difficulties and/or challenges is very upsetting also to us as parents. It is not uncommon to experience feelings of helplessness, anxiety, and depression as your son or daughter's sufferings also impacts you as a parent. As the many developmental stages children and adolescents go through changes quite rapidly, sometimes with mood swings, changed interests and behaviours in tow, it can be difficult to know whether what your child/adolescent is going through is due to normal developmental behaviours or whether your son or daughter actually is in need of psychological support.

As a psychologist with many years of experience from working with children and adolescents, I would say that you should trust your gut feeling if you feel something is not right, and you are doing the right thing when looking for support. In the vast majority of cases therapy will be needed, but perhaps not for an as long time as may have been the case, should you wait until there is a real sense of emergency.

Testimonials

Maria V.
NYC, USA

"Therapy with Jo has changed my life, and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have been in therapy and on antidepressants since my early twenties, trying to battle severe depression and frequent panic attacks, but nothing seemed to help.

Jo's knowledge, compassion and great methods helped me gain understanding for why I was feeling the way I did, which made a tremendous change to my general mood and well-being. Two years after my therapy with Jo, my panic attacks are still completely gone, and I am doing great without antidepressants!

Thank you Jo, you are truly a lifesaver!"
